上記のような疑問を抱いたことはありますか？
競馬をやったことがある人は「マイル」という言葉を聞いたことがあると思います。
競馬にはマイル・クラシック・ステイヤーなど複数の距離が存在するため、ややこしく感じますよね。
競走馬には短距離・中距離・長距離とそれぞれ得意・不得意の距離が存在します。
数ある距離の中でも今回は「マイル」に絞って特徴や戦略を紹介します。
競馬の距離体系（SMILE）
まず、競馬にはいくつかの距離が存在します。
距離の分け方には諸説がありますが、今回はJRAのSMILEに準じて解説していきます。

上記の表にそれぞれ別れています。
マイルとは
マイルは上記で説明した「距離体系SMILE」の中のMを意味するマイルです。
上記の表でマイルは1301mｰ1899mと表記してありますが、正確には1マイル約1600mのことを指します。
なので、1600mの競走をマイル戦と言われており、マイル戦を得意とする競走馬を「マイラー」と呼んだりします。
マイル戦が行われる競馬場
マイル戦が行われる中央競馬場は以下の通りです。
・東京競馬場
・中山競馬場
・阪神競馬場
・京都競馬場
・中京競馬場
・新潟競馬場
以上6つになります。
ローカル競馬場にはマイル戦は少なく、G1の行われる東京競馬場・中山競馬場・阪神競馬場・京都競馬場で各2コーナーずつ用意されています。
マイル戦のJRAG1レース
競馬最高峰のレースでもあるG1レースの中でもマイル戦がありますが、実は日本の競馬で1番G1レースが多いのがこのマイルです。
マイル戦が行われるG1レースは下記表の通りです。

東京競馬場で開催される「安田記念」と京都競馬場で開催される「マイルチャンピオンシップ」の両方で優勝することを「春秋マイル制覇」と言い、マイル王と呼ばれます。
マイル戦での戦略
マイル以下の短距離レースでは、スピード一本調子の競走馬でも勝てますが、マイル戦ではそうはいきません。
マイル戦で勝つためには、スピードとスタミナの両方を兼ね揃えている競走馬が圧倒的に有利になります。
また、タメを作るポイントも重要であり、騎手の指示を的確に聞くことができる競走馬は馬券に絡みやすくなるでしょう。
狙い目の血統としては、クロフネ産駒やステイゴールド産駒がおすすめです。
出走表を確認し、上記に当てはまる競走馬が競走する場合は積極的に馬券に絡めましょう。

競馬ファンなら一度は聞いたことがある名前が並んでいるのがわかりますよね。
これからの競馬で「春秋マイル」を制覇する新たなマイル王が出現することを楽しみにしましょう。
