函館競馬場のコースの特徴は、緩やかなアップダウンがあるコースです。
函館競馬場も札幌競馬場と同じ洋芝を利用しており、走るのにスタミナが必要になります。
また、函館競馬場の最大の特徴として、中央競馬場の中でも最も直線距離が短いという点です。
さらにゴール手前の400m付近から下り坂になっていることもあり、逃げ馬に有利なコースとなっています。
福島競馬場
福島競馬場は中央競馬場の中でも1周の距離が短くなっているのが特徴です。
1周1,600mで3コーナーと4コーナーは「スパイラルカーブ」という特殊な形状になっており、3コーナーに侵入するときのカーブは緩やかで、4コーナーのカーブはキツくなっています。
コース全体は平坦な作りになっており、直線距離も290mと短めになっています。
芝もオーバーシードとなっており、パワーはあまり必要ないので、逃げ馬はかなり有利になっています。
新潟競馬場
新潟競馬場は外回りの直線距離が長く、約650mでダントツの長さになっています。
あまりに長い直線距離なので、「アイビスサバーダッシュ」という直線距離だけで競うレースが開催されるほどです。
コース自体は坂などもなく、全体的に平坦な作りになっており、最後の直線が勝負の別れ道になります。
差し馬や追い込み馬でも勝機があるのが特徴です。
小倉競馬場
小倉競馬場もスパイラルカーブを採用している競馬場で、3コーナーの入りはカーブが緩く、4コーナーを抜ける時のカーブはキツめになっています。
多少のアップダウンがあるのが特徴で直線距離は約290mになっています。
第4コーナーを回った最後の直線で最終的な勝敗を争うレース展開が多く、差し馬が飛び込みやすくなっています。
ただ、実力馬が参戦することは少なく基本的には逃げ馬や先行の馬が有利な競馬場です。
中京競馬場
中京競馬場の特徴は、直線距離が412mと長めの距離となっています。
第4コーナーからゴール直前の途中まで下り坂になっていますが、残り100m地点から急に上り坂になるのが大きなポイントです。
この坂でスタミナのない競走馬が失速し、順位を落とすケースが多々見受けられます。
また、第1コーナーは緩やかなカーブで第2コーナー以降はキツめのカーブになっています。
最後まで目の離せないレース展開になることが多いのが中京競馬場です。
代表的なレースとして、春の短距離王決定戦と言われている「高松宮記念」と「チャンピオンズカップ」が開催されます。
東京競馬場
東京競馬場の特徴は、500mを超える長い直線です。
道中の順位はあまり関係なく最後の直線で爆発力を発揮できる競走馬が勝利を手にすることができます。
最終の直線距離が長いということは、後方から勝負をかける差しや追い込み馬にも十分チャンスがあるコースになっています。
逆に逃げ馬にとっては最後の長い直線は鬼門になっています。
「日本ダービー」「オークス」「ジャパンカップ」といった代表的なレースがたくさん開催されるのが東京競馬場です。
中山競馬場
中山競馬場の特徴は、ゴール前の直線が300m未満と短く、最終直線より少し手前の第4コーナーを回るあたりから激しさを増します。
そしてこの直線ほぼ全体が急激な上り坂になっているのが中山競馬場最大の特徴です。
最終直線が短くスピードを求められますが、全競馬場一の急な上り坂を上り切れるパワーも持ち合わせる必要があり、東京競馬場と同様に最後まで目の離せないレース展開になるケースが多いです。
「有馬記念」「皐月賞」などの重要なG1レースが開催される競馬場です。
阪神競馬場
阪神競馬場の特徴は、上空から見ると”おむすび型”の形状をしており、第1コーナーと第2コーナーのカーブが小回りになっています。
第3コーナーは急なカーブになっており、カーブを上手く走れる競走馬が有利になる傾向にあります。
道中はレースに影響するようなアップダウンはありませんが、最終コーナーを回って直線に入り、最終200mあたりからゴール手前までに強烈な上り坂になっています。
この上り坂を上手く走れるかが勝敗を決める鍵となっています。
「大阪杯」「宝塚記念」「菊花賞」などのG1レースで使用されている競馬場です。
京都競馬場
京都競馬場は2023年3月まで全面的な改修工事が行われていました。
スタンドやパドックが大幅に改良されたとのことですが、コース自体は大幅に変わったわけではないようです。
そんな新しくなった京都競馬場の特徴は、第3コーナーの入り口に「淀の坂」と呼ばれているキツめの坂が設けられており、そこを走り抜けると第4コーナーあたりから残り600m地点まで下り坂になっています。
最終直線はほぼ平坦な作りになっているので、このアップダウンの攻略が最大のポイントとなってきます。
最終コーナーあたりでスピードを確保できるので、逃げ馬や先行の馬が若干有利な競馬場となっています。
